Protecting your privacy online is very important!  Social networking sites are very popular right now, but some people put too much personal information online that can make them a target.  Not only is using your home computer risky, many smartphone users are becoming targets for criminals.

Here we go again . . .

Another year is underway!  Things have changed a bit.  We are no longer a Globaloria school this year.  Therefore, we have to do game design on our own.  Hopefully we can manage to accomplish the same things.

The only bad thing about starting school is that we started on Monday and had five days the first week of school.  Usually we have a few days and at least get Labor Day off.  Now we will acutally have 2 weeks in before the Labor Day holiday. 

One Week to Spring Break

We have four days this week and the students are looking forward to the break.  They just don't realize that there is not very many days left to finish their games.  It will be time to schedule their presentations before we know it!

Game Progress

All teams finally have a demo uploaded to their team pages.  Now they will have to pace themselves to make sure that they have a completed game in May.  Some of the teams do not have very much educational elements to their project and it is difficult to explain that to them.

I am excited to see what some of the teams come up with for their final game.  It will be May before you know it!

Semester Exams Over

Finally the first semester is over and a new one has begun.  The days are beginning to fly by again and it is time to push, push, push, to get everything done.  As in most classes, you have the student that does everything you ask them to do and those that don't do anything you ask them to do.  I have a mixture of both.  Time will tell if they have a finished product come presentation time.  It's a lot like trying to push over a wall.

Snow! Snow! Snow!

I was hoping that the snow would hold off a little longer.  It is that time of the year, though, so I guess we can't complain.  We have been lucky so far that we haven't missed any days.  Our county put days into the calendar during 2nd semester to makeup snow days.  It would be nice to not have to use them and get them off later.  Only two snows and I'm already looking forward to spring!
